Time for some REAL TALK!
One of the things I constantly hear from people, is that they don't 'feel like' doing something. They don't 'feel like' going to the gym or they don't 'feel like' preparing their food for the next day.
It's even something I hear from people when they have to get work done, either business related or even private/home stuff - they don't 'feel like' completing various tasks.
This is a shitty reason not to do something! Have you ever heard the expression (at least I think it's an expression otherwise I've just made it up); feelings change, your goals don't.
Well there's something about that! If you truly RESPECT yourself and your goals, 'not feeling like it' is never an excuse not to do it.
For the past few weeks, I have been struggling with my anxiety. For whatever reason, its decided to rear its ugly head and as a result, everything I now do, even the smallest tasks, have become a huge struggle.
For the past few weeks I have not 'felt like' doing anything! But regardless of how I've felt, I've got up, dressed up and showed up! ...and on most days, all I've really wanted has been to stay in bed and cry about how overwhelming everything is.
The only reason why I've not succumbed to the desire to hide away under my duvet is because of the amount of RESPECT I feel towards my business and the goals I have with my business.
Now I want to ask you one question. And do yourself a favour and answer honestly because you won't be kidding anyone but yourself if you don't:
Do you RESPECT yourself or your goals enough to not give a damn about how you 'feel'?
There are loads of things I want in life - some of the things I know I'll get and others I know I probably won't.
That's because I'm super aware that nothing in life is GIVEN to anyone... well most people anyway. If you want something in life you have to WORK for it - it's not enough to WANT it.
The things I'm working for and willing to invest time, effort, sweat and tears in, I KNOW I will eventually get. There rest of the things on my list are there because they're nice to dream about.
Unfortunately, most of us, especially when it comes to our health and fitness, are still waiting for a miracle pill or solution that will do most of the work for us. We don't want to put in the effort because it would mean we might have to make uncomfortable changes.
Ladies, there's no shortcuts in life, If you want something bad enough, you have to do things that might not always be fun.
So I ask you, when it comes to your health and fitness goals:
Do you simply WANT those changes in your life or are you willing to WORK for them too?
The two pictures were literally taken within half an hour of each other!
Why am I showing you this?
To remind you that our bodies constantly change and it sometimes takes the smallest or most basic variable to make a 'big' difference.
Even the leanest people tend not to walk around all day with a six pack. Between eating food, drinking enough fluids and even between toilet visits, our bodies (and our stomachs in particular) expands and contracts.
Stop beating yourself up because you don't look trim or lean after meals or even if your jeans feel tighter at the end of the day.
It's completely natural and entirely unavoidable!
Love your body for what it is and the amount of incredible work it does for you every second of every day while working towards your goals.
Real women have curves. Real women are skinny.
Real women clean. Real women hire a cleaner.
Real women want kids. Real women don't want kids.
Real women cook. Real women 'deliveroo'.
Real women have cellulite. Real women don't have cellulite.
Real women are freaks in the bed. Real women have headaches.
Real women are soft spoken. Real women are loud.
Real women want careers. Real women want to stay home and Netflix.
Real women want to get married. Real women want to stay single.
Real women support each other. No that's it...
Real women are shy. Real women are aggressive.
Real women rule the world in heels. Real women rule the world in flats. Real women rule the world barefoot. Real women rule the world...
Half the population on earth can't look, act or be the same. So stop giving a damn about the people who try to convince you otherwise
1. You're doing it to impress someone you don't like
Honestly why do you even bother?
2. You're trying to impress someone you do like
It might seem more legitimate, but you should never do anything to impress anyone other than yourself. Especially when it comes to your body.
3. You think you'll be happier if you look a certain way
You're your own worst critic - regardless of how you look, you'll always find something else you'd need to change before you'd be happy. Chasing happiness in how you look is a race with no end.
4. You think more people will like you if you look a certain way
If a person likes you for who you are, they'll like you regardless of your shape or size. It's all about character and personality so make sure you're a nice person and the world will have no option but to fall in love with you!
5. You're trying to look like an Instagram model
Instagram models don't even look like Instagram models in real life!
6. You believe you'll find a partner quicker
Love is not skin deep - don't mistake it for lust. If you want something that'll last longer than the honeymoon period, you'll need to find someone who is interested in the size of your soul, not your booty!
7. You think life will be easier if you're skinny
Whether you're a size 6,12 or 22 you will always experience difficulties in life. Nobody's life is easy - trust me!
8. You believe that you can eat more freely if you're below a certain size and not worry too much about it
Skinny, fat, short or tall; we all have to be mindful of what we eat. Skinny people are not immune to illness that comes from poor eating habits.
9. Because you want a thigh gap or other social media body trend
Possibly one of the worst and most dangerous reasons to chase a weight loss! It makes no bloody sense and next year it will be a new part of the body that will be idolised. And believe it or not but thigh gaps are hugely dependent on your genetics and body structure - you may NEVER get one regardless of how much weight you lose!
10. Because you believe you can't be healthy if you aren't below a certain weight
Health is not dependant on how much you weigh although it does play a part in it. You can be overweight and perfectly healthy if you still maintain a healthy lifestyle, stay active and eat sensibly. Unless you're severely obese, having a bit of extra cushion around your body doesn't inherently put your health at risk.
